RANDOM THOUGHTS UPDATED APRIL 23, 2009

Tue May 29, 2007, 10:31 AM
Rambling thoughts that bounce around in my head in a random but consistent basis--(be afraid-BWAAA HAA HAAAAA).

I BELIEVE:
...that you shouldn't assume what someone is thinking. You should NEVER assume the attitude of someone in ANYTHING written unless you REALLY know them. The nuance of the written word misunderstood can destroy a new friendship in a moment with a sensitive person. Be clear and expressive in your writings. Animations are awesome!

...that every person can contribute something to this world.

I USED TO BELIEVE:

....That if you don't Vote you have no right to complain...and that there is NO valid excuse for not voting. Since then I've come to realize there are folks unable to vote that should have a voice.I will most likely be complaining for the next four years regardless--update: not complaining, in disbelief is a better description for the past few weeks).

WHAT MAKES MY LIFE INTERESTING?
....Selling interesting stuff on eBay...check in on my auctions under my seller ID to see if I have anything up for sale! My name is SURFYNGIRL.

....Caring enough about the world to be informed and make my voice heard. The power of ONE does matter.

....Having Bipolar Disorder and struggling daily to make some sense out of it during the bad days to find good days to come.

....Continuing my search to grow spiritually without closing my mind and passing judgement on others

THINGS THAT MAKE MY LIFE BETTER:
....An open mind - and an insane sense of humor
....AA - 24+ yrs One Day at a Time
....Internet-the friends I've made, World it opens
....Faith
....My Brothers, always there for me
....Living through and surviving the 70's

THINGS I MISS:
....My Mom - Being on the receiving end of her endless hugs, smiles and "I Love You's". She was truly my best friend.

....LIVE NASCAR RACES - the hours of time we spent just being pals on those long bus trips to the tracks and back.

....Being Married... When love and trust went hand in hand.

THAT IN THIS WORLD WHICH BOTHERS ME:
...Left Wing NUTS..Right Wing NUTS.

....Entertainers I pay to see that become POLITICIANS when I just want to be entertained. Great FICTION (note strongly the word fiction) TV shows that turn into crap because they can't stay out of the controversies of today's news. Example #1: Ellen had the funniest sitcom on TV since Lucy. I knew she was Gay. Hell, EVERYONE did, no one CARED. But she ruined the show by turning it into a soap box and it lost ratings NOT because of her being openly gay, but because it became serious and WASN'T FUNNY anymore. I watched it because it was a COMEDY show. Example #2: I have never missed a show on FX called "RESCUE ME" in all the years it has run. Now in their 2nd show this season they are starting the 9/11 conspiracy theory full force. Previews to next week look like it will get deeper. I am keeping an open mind until next weeks show. If it continues it will also be the last one I watch.

....CAT HATERS-actually any animal hater-why HATE an animal for being what it was born to be? If a person doesn't have compassion for animals, that tells me all I need to know.........

....People who, knowing I don't drink, drive me crazy after three drinks determined to explain the rest of the night that they don't have a drinking problem when I have never insinuated, looked at them or said a word about the subject. (I DON'T CARE!)

Awwww MAN!?! You got to see Black Sabbath AND Pink Floyd??

I would have been in bliss. I did make it to see Foghat and Styx.

I remember getting kicked out of a concert before it even started because I forgot that we weren't allowed to smoke, and I lit up.

Yep, them was the days. I'm also glad I survived and am living a sober (and somewhat troubled) life. :) This world could use a little of the spirit we had back then, but tempered with wisdom.

Glad I stumbled on your post! Have a great day. :)

Well, he's kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace “accidentally” with “repeatedly” and replace “dog” with “son.” Lionel Hutz

Ahhh hello a kindred spirit and survivor. :slow: I don't visit my site very regularly, being such a scatter...rather, a scattered brain. Does make one pause to wonder whether the EXCESSES :eyepopping: :eyepopping: of our past have anything to do with our now clean and sober but somewhat troubled present, eh? BUT my worst day straight is much better than my best day messed up (actually I seriously doubt I'd be here now :floating: to even say that considering the road I was on-or rather the one I kept wrecking on :crash:). As far as concerts, There aren't many I didn't go to I guess. Those I can remember? :lmao: Rolling Stones, Elton John, ZZTop, Alice Cooper several times, Tina Turner (we're talking early-mid 70's here, not their revivals ) hard to believe they are all still going-I was still just pushing 20. oh-Dr. John, Uriah Heep, Dr. Hook, CCR,John Cougar, 3 Dog Night, Chicago, Grand Funk Railroad (just sold their window flyer for $72.00 on eBay) several times, Iron Butterfly (I just sold their autographs with a drumstick tip on eBay $20 I think) Foghat, Gentle Giant, Jefferson Starship, Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, a whole lot of "Country Rock", Allman Brothers, Chris Christofferson, Waylon Jennings Willie and the boys and soooo many I know I will think of later. I stayed soo stoned :meditation: or wasted back in those days., OH LORDIE what memories you have brought back. I haven't thought about those days in years. Oh I forgot Elvis. I was an Elvis nut in the midst of it all. Hard to believe but he came before all of that. Those days were actually a lot of fun before the actually insanity and addictions took hold later in the 80's.. Who knew back then that social partying would end up claiming the life of almost EVERY one of my friends by way of drug overdoses, alcoholism in the form of car wrecks, pancreas or liver diseases, 1suicide as a result of losing everything and under the influence at the same time and even one of the first known cases of AIDS from IV Drugs. Of all those friends, only 2 are still living, both Potheads. I am fortunate to have gotten out-God apparently wasn't done with me yet.

You must be younger than me. Back when I went to concerts, smoking wasn't even an issue. Every one lit up, legal substances and otherwise (if you were fast enough to not get caught) and except for the really big acts-everything was usually Woodstock seating (bring your own quilt for the floor) People weren't rude back then and most danced around, chilled and you could actually see the band on stage if you chose to quilt it toward the back. Hey-thanks for the mail! I've enjoyed it, especially the reminiscing! Smilin' atcha, Bonnie

This is a neat site Sarah turned me on to a while back. I think I am gonna try to do some art and get into digital or whatever. I bought a ton of art supplies last year but haven't touched them. Like my Avatar I made?
