I BELIEVE:
...that you shouldn't assume what someone is thinking. You should NEVER assume the attitude of someone in ANYTHING written unless you REALLY know them. The nuance of the written word misunderstood can destroy a new friendship in a moment with a sensitive person. Be clear and expressive in your writings. Animations are awesome!
...that every person can contribute something to this world.
I USED TO BELIEVE:
....That if you don't Vote you have no right to complain...and that there is NO valid excuse for not voting. Since then I've come to realize there are folks unable to vote that should have a voice.I will most likely be complaining for the next four years regardless--update: not complaining, in disbelief is a better description for the past few weeks).
WHAT MAKES MY LIFE INTERESTING?
....Selling interesting stuff on eBay...check in on my auctions under my seller ID to see if I have anything up for sale! My name is SURFYNGIRL.
....Caring enough about the world to be informed and make my voice heard. The power of ONE does matter.
....Having Bipolar Disorder and struggling daily to make some sense out of it during the bad days to find good days to come.
....Continuing my search to grow spiritually without closing my mind and passing judgement on others
THINGS THAT MAKE MY LIFE BETTER:
....An open mind - and an insane sense of humor
....AA - 24+ yrs One Day at a Time
....Internet-the friends I've made, World it opens
....Faith
....My Brothers, always there for me
....Living through and surviving the 70's
THINGS I MISS:
....My Mom - Being on the receiving end of her endless hugs, smiles and "I Love You's". She was truly my best friend.
....LIVE NASCAR RACES - the hours of time we spent just being pals on those long bus trips to the tracks and back.
....Being Married... When love and trust went hand in hand.
THAT IN THIS WORLD WHICH BOTHERS ME:
...Left Wing NUTS..Right Wing NUTS.
....Entertainers I pay to see that become POLITICIANS when I just want to be entertained. Great FICTION (note strongly the word fiction) TV shows that turn into crap because they can't stay out of the controversies of today's news. Example #1: Ellen had the funniest sitcom on TV since Lucy. I knew she was Gay. Hell, EVERYONE did, no one CARED. But she ruined the show by turning it into a soap box and it lost ratings NOT because of her being openly gay, but because it became serious and WASN'T FUNNY anymore. I watched it because it was a COMEDY show. Example #2: I have never missed a show on FX called "RESCUE ME" in all the years it has run. Now in their 2nd show this season they are starting the 9/11 conspiracy theory full force. Previews to next week look like it will get deeper. I am keeping an open mind until next weeks show. If it continues it will also be the last one I watch.
....CAT HATERS-actually any animal hater-why HATE an animal for being what it was born to be? If a person doesn't have compassion for animals, that tells me all I need to know.........
....People who, knowing I don't drink, drive me crazy after three drinks determined to explain the rest of the night that they don't have a drinking problem when I have never insinuated, looked at them or said a word about the subject. (I DON'T CARE!)

I would have been in bliss. I did make it to see Foghat and Styx.
I remember getting kicked out of a concert before it even started because I forgot that we weren't allowed to smoke, and I lit up.
Yep, them was the days. I'm also glad I survived and am living a sober (and somewhat troubled) life.
Glad I stumbled on your post! Have a great day.

Well, he's kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace accidentally with repeatedly and replace dog with son. Lionel Hutz
You must be younger than me. Back when I went to concerts, smoking wasn't even an issue. Every one lit up, legal substances and otherwise (if you were fast enough to not get caught) and except for the really big acts-everything was usually Woodstock seating (bring your own quilt for the floor) People weren't rude back then and most danced around, chilled and you could actually see the band on stage if you chose to quilt it toward the back. Hey-thanks for the mail! I've enjoyed it, especially the reminiscing! Smilin' atcha, Bonnie
